Information on returning products and obtaining refunds from TKD Tech

Our Returns and Refunds Commitment

At TKD Tech, we strive to ensure you receive quality industrial supplies. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help. Please read our returns policy carefully.

1. Returns Policy Overview

This Returns and Refunds Policy applies to all products purchased from TKD Tech (PTY) LTD, whether online, via email, telephonically, or through direct sales. This policy is designed to be fair to both our customers and our business while complying with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA).

2. Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must have been purchased directly from TKD Tech.
  • The item must be unused, unwashed, and in the same condition as received.
  • The item must be in its original packaging with all tags, labels, and accessories intact.
  • A valid proof of purchase or order number must be provided.
  • The return must be initiated within the specified timeframe.

3. Timeframe

You have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to notify us of your intention to return a product. Returns requested after this period will not be accepted unless the product is defective or does not conform to the description, in which case your rights under the Consumer Protection Act may apply.

4. Condition Requirements

Returned items must meet the following condition requirements:

  • Products must not show signs of wear, use, or damage.
  • All original packaging must be intact and undamaged.
  • PPE and safety equipment must not have been used or altered in any way.
  • Welding consumables and cleaning chemicals must be in their original sealed containers.
  • Items must be free from odours, stains, or contamination.

TKD Tech reserves the right to refuse a return if the product does not meet these condition requirements.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned unless defective or incorrectly supplied:

  • Custom-made or specially ordered products.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) that has been opened or used for hygiene and safety reasons.
  • Welding consumables including electrodes, cutting discs, and grinding wheels.
  • Cleaning chemicals and detergents that have been opened or mixed.
  • Clearance, sale, or discontinued items.
  • Products that have been personalised, engraved, or modified to customer specifications.

6. How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact our Returns Department via email at returns@tkdtech.co.za or call +27 11 568 4125 within 14 days of delivery.
  2. Provide your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
  3. Our team will issue a Return Authorisation (RA) number and provide instructions for returning the item.
  4. Pack the item securely in its original packaging, including all accessories and documentation.
  5. Ship the item to the address provided by our Returns Department. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases where the return is due to a defect, error on our part, or a product not conforming to description.

7. Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the status. If the return is approved, we will process a refund to your original method of payment within 10 business days. Refunds will be processed as follows:

  • PayFast payments: Refunded to the original card or payment method used.
  • EFT payments: Refunded to the original bank account from which payment was made.
  • Invoice/Credit Account payments: A credit note will be issued against the account.

Please note that original delivery charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

8. Exchange Policy

Where stock availability permits, we may offer an exchange for a different size, variant, or product of equal value. Exchanges are subject to the same eligibility and condition requirements as returns. Any price difference for exchanges to higher-value items must be settled before the replacement is dispatched.

9. Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us immediately and within 24 hours of delivery. We will arrange for collection and replacement at no additional cost to you. Please retain all original packaging and documentation as this may be required for inspection.

In the case of damaged deliveries, we may require photographic evidence and a signed delivery note noting the damage to process your claim with the carrier.
